becoming a friend, updating your profile, or making a donation). Personal information we

• Additional information required during the checkout process for donations will also include your address, telephone number, and credit card details.

ACRI collects, retains, and displays personal information for reasonable purposes such as

  • Create and store your friend profile;
  • Process charitable donations;
  • Update our website; and
  • Respond to comments & requests.

Whenever you voluntarily disclose personal information using features such as online forums, message boards, Wall of Hope, public profiles and other similar features, this information is being made available to anyone.

Such information may be collected and used by third parties for purposes over which ACRI has no control. By making such information available using such features, ACRI has no responsibility for the handling of such information.

ACRI will not sell, trade or loan your information to other organizations. However, your personal information may be transferred to a successor entity of ACRI or to any entity which purchases substantially all or part of the assets of ACRI.

Except as described in this Policy, ACRI will not disclose your personal information to unaffiliated companies unless you have consented to such disclosure. ACRI sometimes contracts with outside organizations to perform specialized services such as hosting the Website or processing credit card information for donations. Our suppliers may at times receive, process or handle some of your personal information. Only the personal information necessary to perform the specific services is given to the supplier.

Collection, Use and Disclosure of Non-personal Information

ACRI may at times collect non-personal data from visitors such as the type of internet browser used, the internet protocol address, or the user’s preferred language. You cannot be personally identified from this information.

The data is used to assist us in providing a more effective and enjoyable experience for all our visitors, to diagnose problems with the Website, to assess the effectiveness of content and traffic at the Website and to determine how visitors use the Website. When using our e-mail referral service to inform a friend about, you will be asked for the friend’s email address. A one-time email will automatically be sent by us to invite them to visit ACRI will not automatically add your friend to any mailing list.

ACRI uses industry-leading Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology to store your personal information as securely as commercially reasonably possible and to protect its friends against the loss, misuse and alteration of personal information on the Website. Your password is never stored unencrypted, or in any form of two-way encryption. ACRI works with its suppliers and partners to provide a secure and safe environment for credit card
donations. Payment information is stored off-site in a PCI-secured environment. Please keep in mind, however, that no communication over the Internet is 100% secure and any information disclosed online can potentially be intercepted and used by parties other than the intended recipient.
